1.Time and Place

1.1. The competition will be taking place on the 19th of April 2018 from 13.30 to 15.15.

1.2. The competition will be held in the inner parking lot of the Students’ house of Tallinn University of Technology (Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn, Estonia).

  1. Goals of the Competition

2.1. To popularize the profession of construction engineering.

2.2. To offer students and engineers in the field of construction engineering and architecture a challenge to employ their knowledge and through it enrich their work and studies.

  1. The Task

3.1. The contestants have to build a wall based on technical drawings and parameters given at the start.

3.2. The contestants have 1.5 astronomical hours to complete the task.

3.3. The following tools will be provided:

3.3.1. Trowels, mixing bucket

3.3.2. A saw

3.3.3. Measuring tape, rope

3.3.4. Electric mortat mixer

3.3.5. Gloves and protective clothing

  1. Participants

4.1. This is a team competition. The maximum team size is limited to 2.

4.2. Participation in the competition is free.

4.3. There is no set age limit.

4.4. It is recommended for participants to have base knowledge about masonry.

4.5. Participation is voluntary and at the participant’s own risk. The hosts take no responsibility for possible accidents and their consequences.

5.1. Registration can be found on BuildIT 2018’s homepage.

5.2. In case of free spots, it will be possible to register to the competition on the spot before the start of the competition.

5.3. By signing up, all participants voluntarily give their consent for the use of all information gathered during the event including pictures and videos made of the participants for marketing purposes by BuildIT.

  1. Judging

6.1. Scoring will be based on how well the finished wall matches the starting task(general parameters, angles), the cleanliness of the work station is and time spent.

6.2. The maximum possible score is 35 points.

7.1. 1st to 3rd place recipients will be rewarded.
