1. Time and Place

1.1. The competition will be taking place on the 19th of April 2018 from 13:30 to 14:00.

1.2. The competition will be held at the Students’ house of Tallinn University of Technology (Ehitajate tee 5, Tallinn, Estonia).

 

  1. Goals of the Competition

2.1. To popularize the profession of construction engineering.

2.2. To offer students and engineers in the field of construction engineering and architecture a challenge to employ their knowledge and through it enrich their work and studies.

 

  1. The Task

3.1. The contestants will be competing on a game board where the columns represent topics and the rows represent the amount of points the question under the tile is worth. There are 5 rows and 5 columns.

3.2. To pick a tile, the contestant should pose his/her question in the appropriate form: “<Topic> <Points>” for example: “BuildIT 2”.

3.3. The answer should be presented in the form:  “What is …?” või “Who is …?”.

3.3.1. If the contestant does not use the appropriate form the answer will be automatically considered wrong regardless of it’s content and other contestants will get a chance to answer.

3.3.2. If answered right, the contestant will recieve the amount of points pictured on the tile. If the answer if false, the points will be deducted from their score.

3.4. If there are no more questions, the contestants will enter Final Jeopardy.

3.4.1. A contestant can only enter Final Jeopardy if his/her score is positive.

3.4.2. The contestants will be able to bet from 1 to whatever sum they have gathered by the start of Final Jeopardy. The maximum bet can be up to 50 euros..

3.4.3. The contestants will have 2 minutes to answer the Final Jeopardy question and write it on paper.

3.4.4. If answered right, the contestant will recieve the amount of points they bet. If the answer if false, the points will be deducted from their score.

4.Participants

4.1. The competition is individual.

4.2. The competition is free to participate in..

4.3. There is no set age limit.

4.4. Everyone can enter regardless of their field of expertise.

 

  1. Registration

5.1. Registration can be found on BuildIT 2018’s homepage.

5.2. In case of free spots, it will be possible to register to the competition on the spot before the start of the competition.

5.3. By signing up, all participants voluntarily give their consent for the use of all information gathered during the event including pictures and videos made of the participants for marketing purposes by BuildIT.

 

  1. Judging

6.1. The winner will be the player with the most points at the end of the game.

 

  1. Awards

7.1. 1st to 3rd place recipients will be rewarded.
